Vancouver's festival season is well underway. Knaves and poets and flower children alike gather together on the streets to play, make music, and make merry.
I worked two festivals in a row over the last two weekends. Italian Day and Car Free Day. Both allowed streets to be blockaded from cars, so that the party was on the street. I worked at a booth selling wares from India, Indonesia, and Thailand, opposite a PA system blaring Salsa music. There was dancing in the streets. Oh, what fun! I wanted to dance but had to be an observer.
There were a lot of Brazilians out there. I even got to practice my Portuguese.
Ah, beleza.
